About WCTA

Built by drivers, for drivers.

We represent experienced operators across every kind of equipment on the road, and we take their concerns to the people who write the rules.

Our mission

What we are here to do

WCTA serves as the unified voice for drivers in the trucking industry. We advocate on the concerns that affect drivers day to day, provide education, training and information drawn from decades of road experience, and promote a transportation system that is safe, dependable and efficient.

We represent experienced drivers across every kind of equipment on the road. Our members decide which industry issues get our attention, and they are the reason road safety sits at the centre of everything we do.

Safety is our foremost priority. We work through political advocacy, media relations, member savings programs on essential services, and educational forums built specifically for the trucking sector. Everyone in this industry has to be an ambassador for it — raising awareness about what trucking actually requires, and what it contributes.

How we work

Four things we work on, every day.

Safety first, always

Safety is our foremost priority. We push for road design, enforcement and carrier practices that send every driver home at the end of the run.

Advocacy that reaches decision makers

We take driver concerns to government and to the media, so that the people writing the rules hear from the people driving the trucks.

Education and training

Forums, clinics and plain-language guidance built specifically for the trucking sector — not generic workplace training.

Real savings for members

Negotiated member pricing on the services drivers and owner-operators actually spend money on.
